If you have suffered from tooth loss at any point in your life, you may feel that you cannot be as confident as you once were – especially when it comes to smiling and eating. Dentures are certainly an option in this case, as they give you the chance to enjoy life again. Patients with existing dentures may also want new dentures made to replace old ones that may not fit very well anymore, making them uncomfortable to wear.
You can have either a full or partial set of dentures. They are designed to replicate the function of normal teeth, enabling improved ability to chew, speak, and function.
Dentures are completely reversible and often do not require adjustment or reliance on adjacent teeth. They can be adjusted and have teeth added to them if required. Dentures are commonly used as an interim prosthesis while the mouth is healing for implant surgery. They can be made and manufactured relatively quickly and are removable.
By having teeth to replace missing ones, dentures can help you avoid the embarrassment of not having teeth and not smiling. This can also result in improved confidence and self-esteem, which in turn can have a positive impact on your professional and personal life. Dentures can also be shaped to improve the soft tissue profile of the face, providing a fuller, more youthful appearance.
We can provide dentures made from three different materials:
- Acrylic – These dentures are comfortable and affordable. They are the most basic option, easy to fit, and can be easily altered if needed. However, they can be thick, bulky, and need to cover a lot more of your soft tissues in the mouth.
- Cobalt Chrome – Dentures can be used to replace any number of teeth and can be made quite thin, making them more comfortable to wear. As they’re cast to fit your teeth, they feel secure when worn – there’s no risk of these dentures falling out when you eat or talk!
- Valplast – These are made from a thin plastic material that is flexible and moulds to your mouth. They can look very natural and be comfortable to wear.
