A healthy mouth is important for maintaining a healthy and confident lifestyle. Gum disease, known as gingivitis, is a common problem, and symptoms such as inflamed gums, bleeding, sensitivity, and pain can all be signs of it.
If gum disease persists over a long period and progresses, it can eventually affect the supporting structure of the teeth, resulting in pain, infection, wobbly teeth, and eventually, tooth loss. This is known as periodontitis, a more severe form of gum disease.
It is the leading cause of tooth loss, which is why we take an active preventative approach to gum disease, as it is treatable.
Our focus is on prevention. Our hygienist will discuss your oral hygiene regime with you and formulate a plan to help you improve and maintain your dental health and wellness.
Dental hygiene appointments usually last approximately 30 minutes and include:
- Ultrasonic cleaning
- Fresh breath treatment
- Prevention and Treatment of gum disease
- Treatment of sensitive teeth
- Fluoride treatment
- Maintenance of orthodontic straightening treatment.
